Dear Sacha,
For
the most part I grew up without a computer. A computerized
typewriter on which I could enter and review a line before it was typed
onto the page was an amazing machine. I even learned to type on a
regular, old fashioned typewriter, ringing bells and all. When I
did get a computer I was thrilled with the games I could play on
it. Games most people today would not even bother playing on
their cell phones.
Today I take computers and the Internet for
granted. I'm more likely to remember a friend's e-mail address
than his phone number. It has been easy for me to adapt to these
new technologies. The same can't be said for everyone, especially
for those for who going online may not seem to be the best answer.

Why go Online?
Going
online is seen as necessary and even inevitable. It's difficult
to imagine a business without a webpage. Today it has come to the
point that if a company does not have a webpage its business, if not
its credibility, is severely impacted. Of course when we have
mentioned going online, we spoke of something rather more than a
webpage.
Over the last several weeks you have had a chance to find out what the ElectronicTendering System
can do for you. Many of the things it offers you challenge the
common fears about going online, although we did not specifically
present them that way.
The key highlights were:
Community
- putting you in touch with more buyers and vendorrs than you thought
possible. By virtue of placing you on the same system as everyone
else, and easily able to find and see others, the ETS becomes an
excellent networking tool.
On-Demand - the double benefit of
being inexpensive and providing you the freedom to use and manage the
ETS yourself. Though it may sound cliche, it is essentially
self-reliance at bargain basement prices.
Security - multiple
levels of security ensure that everything is in order and safe.
The security measures the ETS provides meet or exceed anything you will
find in traditional government bidding.
The
one item we haven't directly addressed are the reasons you should go
online. In the forefront of reasons to go online is that
e-government is getting more and more attention. That the
presidential elections are making more use of the Internet than ever
before is just one indicator. Adopting the ETS is an easy
step in that direction.
Would you believe that you can save
money if you go online? Case studies and other research have
shown that an efficient, secure online procurement product like the
ElectronicTendering System can save you as much as 20% on
purchases. However, the truly mind boggling statistic is that
with the ETS, your total cost of doing business could drop by up to 80%.
This
is what we all hope to gain from going online. Even if we can't do more
business, we can do business better. And with the on-demand
advantage, should you realize only a fraction of those savings in your
cost of doing business, they will still more than pay for the ETS.

2007 Tradeshow Expo
It's
off to Florida once again. It's hard to think of a nicer place to
be in October. You'll be able to see us there at the 2007
Tradeshow Expo hosted by the Tampa Bay Area Chapter of the NIGP on
October 26, 2007.
This is a great opportunity for you to talk to us directly to learn more about the ETS. Don't miss it!

Today I'll end the on a lighter note. It's important to de-stress, after all, and today's been a long day for me, as well.
On that note, I'd like to wish you all a nice Talk Like A Pirate Day!
Sincerely,
Sacha Hartmann
