Dear Sacha,
Community. That
was the focus of the first newsletter and it will be a recurring theme,
as you might have guessed if you're familiar with our brochure. Of
course the newsletter and the ETS are two separate entities but they
are both communities, and anything I can say about the one will hold
true for the other. Especially since I predict there will be a
lot of overlap between the two. So there won't be any rivalry,
even if I can rightly claim the newsletter to be a personal project. |

| How?
Let's be a community!
That's
easy enough to say but every community needs a vehicle, some center
around which to be a community. It may be a neighborhood, a
newsletter in our case, or a platform such as the ETS.
Buyers
and vendors already have their small community. A family, if you
will. Families are important, yet there are things that are best
not kept in the family. That's why we need to build a large
community. A community in which all the buyers talk to all the
vendors, and vice versa. Instead of trying to hunt down
everyone's information you have it at your fingertips.
We use
the terms visibility and reach to describe these advantages.
Visibility because more people can see you more easily. You
literally become more visible. Reach means how far your
information reaches. Does it reach everyone in your county?
Does it reach neighboring counties or the entire state? The
greater your reach the greater the number of vendors who can bid.
Perhaps the most important question to ask is, can the people you reach, reach you in turn?

I
want to thank those of you who sent their thoughts and opinions to
me. I'm not one who really enjoys standing at a podium and
speaking without hearing some feedback, so this is very encouraging for
me.
I hope to hear more from you. I especially hope we hear from the winner of the Garmin GPS system!
Sincerely,
Sacha Hartmann
